In April 2025, the Ministry of Health launched a call for proposals under the Home Care Programme, as part of the Swiss-Czech Cooperation Programme. This call was exclusively aimed at the two eligible applicants of the so-called pre-defined projects, as specified in the approved Support Measure Proposal.

Both applicants submitted their applications within the set deadline. The applications successfully passed both the formal eligibility check and expert evaluation. Subsequently, they were approved by the Programme Steering Committee and on 6 June 2025 also by the management board of the Ministry of Health.

The HOPE and COMPASS projects form two interconnected pillars of the modernization of home care in the Czech Republic.

The HOPE project, implemented by the National Centre for Nursing and Non-Medical Healthcare Professions, focuses on the practical aspects of developing home care – including education of healthcare professionals, support for informal caregivers, introduction of new technologies and testing of innovative methods directly in the field.

The COMPASS project, implemented by the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic, provides the systemic and analytical foundation – developing a classification and reimbursement framework, a service catalogue, as well as clinical guidelines and quality indicators.

Together, these two projects create a comprehensive and interconnected model for supporting home care – practical improvements to home care and systemic tools for its management and financing.
