As part of the 3rd annual meeting, a Swiss delegation, together with representatives of the National Coordination Unit, the Ministry of the Environment, and other cooperating ministries, visited the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, where projects focused on nature conservation, responsible tourism, and public education in environmental issues were presented within the programme “Sustainable Tourism and Enhancing Biodiversity.

Reconnecting biodiversity in managed forest landscapes
The largest of the presented projects focuses on restoring and improving the connectivity of forest landscapes. At three model sites, concrete measures to support biodiversity are being implemented—for example, the restoration of wetlands and spring areas, the protection of old habitat trees, or the creation of lighter forest edges. The project is intended to serve as inspiration for other forest areas in the Czech Republic.
