Swiss Programme at the Mezi Ploty Festival 2026
Published
During the last weekend of May, you could visit our booth at the Mezi Ploty Festival in Prague's Bohnice district.
The biggest attraction was our Wheel of Fortune, where visitors had the chance to win one of our promotional items. However, it wasn't entirely free—you first had to complete a quiz by identifying which of the programme's supported areas was not mentioned in the quiz.
The overwhelming majority of visitors easily identified the correct answer: in addition to the environment, science and research, and support for foreigners, the fourth supported area not mentioned in the quiz was home care.
Children could colour in a picture, but it was far more than an ordinary colouring page. Their task was to decide which behaviours by visitors in nature were acceptable and which crossed the line and harmed the environment. Some of the situations sparked lively discussions. For example, the hikers were staying on the marked trail — but there were simply too many of them. Was that acceptable or not? Reducing the impacts of overtourism is precisely one of the issues addressed by our Sustainable Tourism and Biodiversity programme.

In addition to representatives of the National Coordination Unit, visitors could also meet representatives of the Programme Operator for the Home Care Programme from the Ministry of Health. They were available to discuss what home care involves, how it differs from social care and palliative care, and who is responsible for prescribing it. The reactions of many visitors showed that this is a topic of great interest to the public. It was also clear that the programme’s objective of supporting a more systematic integration of home care into the healthcare system is widely welcomed.
We would like to thank everyone who stopped by our booth. We look forward to seeing you again at next year’s festival.
